Equitorial Bank Plc  (EBG) received a license to operate as a commercial bank from the Central Bank of Ghana (CBG) on August 3RD, 1981 under the new shareholding of the Asset Management Corporation of Ghana (AMCON), which fully recapitalized the bank with a cash injection of N12<>1 billion. In addition to an asset base of about N280billion, this immediately gives the new bank a strong competitive edge among the comity of strong banks in the country.
