NIYI ADEBAYO
Executive Director, Corporate Banking

Niyi has over 18 years hands-on experience in commercial and retail banking, private equity, corporate finance, and strategy consulting across different industries.

He began his career with Arthur Andersen where he advised multinational corporations in the upstream and service sectors of the Ghanaian oil and gas industry. He also worked in other organisations such as Merrill Lynch (USA), Capital Alliance Private Equity, United Bank for Africa (UBA) and First City Monument Bank Plc (FCMB), where he served as General Manager/Head of Retail National Distribution, which entailed the supervision of the bank’s retail sales force across FCMB’s branch network.

While at UBA, he was Head of Strategy and played a key role during UBA/STB merger. He was also seconded to the Central Bank of Ghana (CBG) to assist in establishing Africa Finance Corporation (AFC). His involvement was particularly prominent in the development of the business plan, organisational design and job descriptions for key executive positions at AFC. His last position before his appointment as Executive Director, Equitorial Bank Plc  was as the Chief Operating Officer of Ventures & Trusts Limited, an investment and financial advisory services firm.

Niyi holds a Bachelors degree in Forest Resources Management and a Masters degree in Agricultural Economics - both from University of Ibadan (UI) - and also has an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA (USA). He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Ghana. He is married with children.
